Principal’s Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to this our Cross and Passion, Kilcullen website.

Céad Míle Fáilte to all our readers, whether parent, student, teacher, past student or as someone interested in learning more about us.

Cross and Passion College is a co-educational, voluntary secondary school founded by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion in 1887 and in the trusteeship of Le Chéile Schools Trust.

Caring relationships are central to the life of Cross and Passion College and our Mission Statement emphasises our commitment to a learning environment where all students are encouraged to grow, with dignity, to their full potential. Both the energy and spirit of the College are reflected in our values and all decisions taken in the College are based on what is best for the students in our care.

We offer a six year programme, with Transition Year as a compulsory element of our curricular provision. The breadth of our curriculum and the range of co-curricular activities available, support students’ learning and their development from 1st through to 6th year.

We encourage all of our students to strive for personal and academic excellence with an appreciation of sport and the arts. All students are encouraged to develop as rounded individuals, fully prepared for the challenges and exciting opportunities that the future holds for them.

As Principal, I have the honour and privilege to work with over 830 students and more than 80 highly committed staff, working as a team, to support students in doing their very best. I know that our students and their parents appreciate the special commitment and enthusiasm of our teachers and support staff.

CPC is supported in every way by our Board of Management and by our very active Parents’ Association. Our Students’ Council and Prefects also play a vital role on a daily basis. We enjoy a wonderful reciprocal relationship with our local community in Kilcullen and as a result, our students’ experience and the life of the College in general is enhanced in a very special way. It is through our combined efforts that the spirit of CPC finds best expression.
