5th Year LCVP – Charlie Talbot visit
5A recently welcomed Charlie Talbot to CPC as part of LCVP. Charlie lives in Kilcullen and has involved himself in community activities such as the work of St Vincent de Paul. He has also engaged in coaching chess to young children in the local community as part of community games.
The students had the opportunity to listen to Charlie speak about the importance of communication. Charlie is a great communicator and used this to great effect in his working life with Kildare County Council. Charlie is the secretary of Co Kildare Failte and explained to the students about this work.
The key message that Charlie conveyed to the students is that enterprise is hugely important in all our lives. It plays a part in so many ways in everyday life. Charlie encouraged the students to embrace proactive citizenship. The students got to ask questions and there was a healthy discussion during the class.
It was a really beneficial and worthwhile learning experience for the students and we’d like to thank Charlie for taking the time to visit our school.
